Wiring accessories up to a leisure battery

Going to be fitting my leisure battery and split charging system tomorrow night but i have a question about wiring the 12v lights, water pump and stereo to it.

Do you attach the negative wire from the leisure battery to the chassis as with the main battery or is it kept isolated from the chassis, if so when wiring accesories up to it such as the above do you wire their negatives to the chassis or run negative wires back to the leisure battery???

chassis earth, connect the leisure battery with a good thich earth strap, and make a good clean, paint free connection to the body.

then all accessories connect to either chassis earth, or direct to the battery, whichever is shorter, or more practical.
Remember, fuses should be as close to the power source (battery) as possible in order to protect the wiring as well as the appliance

Yeah i have a 6 way fuse holder/box i originally bought for my motorbike and never used, so its eventually become useful.

Can anyone tell me an easy way to locate the alternator/battery charge wire behind the dash as i cant seem to locate it and just ended up activating the split charge relay with a simple switch.

My Haynes says it is a blue wire from B1 on the relay plate to pin 11 on the 14 pin multiplug where it connects to the flexy printed circuit and thence to the ignition (generator) warning light.

easiest way is run a signal wire from the alternator, its not much further than from the dash if you are going to the seat box on the passenger side, and you wont mess your dash plug up, you know how delecate they are

Couldn't make head nor tail of the wiring diagrams in my Haynes manual as i found 2 blue wires behind the dash and couldn't work out where pin 11 was but i was up against it as was trying to do it the morning we were leaving for camping (due to lost time filling and painting a couple of what i thought were light rust patches till the wire brush opened up pandora's box), it was red hot and i was sweating like a pig and the missus was chewing my ass off to get going.

Thanks Steve i think i will do that. I put the relay under the drivers seat as thats where it showed to put it on the wiring diagram i had. Short length of wire from cranking battery positive to fuse, then to passenger battery box, another fuse then to leisure battery.
